End of neoliberalism or endless neoliberalism? A prognosis on neoliberal ideas

As an eidetic system, neoliberalism has been characterized by its plasticity
and ability to adapt to changing scenarios over time and geography. From laissez-faire
as a total principle that erases national borders to the demand for strong and controlled
states, neoliberal ideas have mutated along with the accompanying social and political
dynamics. What will happen to the future of neoliberalism after the economic crisis
that is looming as a result of the pandemic? Is it possible to imagine the end of
neoliberalism or, as happened after the 2008-2009 crisis, will it come out even
stronger? Through an investigation into the eidetic trajectory of neoliberalism, this
essay tries to answer the questions previously formulated as an exercise in prognosis,
giving an account of the ontological triumph of neoliberalism and, from there, of a
neoliberal strategy that will no longer be defined in the great eidetic systems, but in specific operations —education, foresight, personal relationships— whose objective is
the structuring of the processes of subjectivation.
