Theoretical questions about marxist dialectics (On Filosofía y dialéctica, by Alberto Parisí)

Abstract

Various problems of Marxist dialectics are discussed, following on from the
book Filosofía y dialéctica, by Alberto Parisí. The elevation of the abstract to the
concrete in knowledge, the various conceptions of the dialectic, negativity in the
objective real/social and in subjectivity, the ideological in the popular project, the
intentional initiative and the concrete in social classes. In the second part, written four
decades after the first one, the analysis of the relationship between the individual and
the social totality is deepened, criticising the possibility of political totalisation. In this
context, it discusses the metaphysics present in the notion of "exteriority", which has
been taken from Levinas’ work and which points to the problem without making a
materialist reading of its deployment and exercise.
