We share with you an excerpt of the interview we conducted with
Professor José Ángel Quintero Weir in October 2023, on the occasion of his visit to
the city of Córdoba, Argentina. The interview was organized in the framework of
the Workshop El sentipensar de la tierra: lengua y cosmovivencias en
América/Abya Yala on October 24 and 25, 2023 at the FFyH, UNC. José Ángel tells
us: thought is not in the mind, but in the heart. Every human community defines an
original starting point (eirare) like a place of seeing and feeling the world. There are
some keys of the sentipensar Añú and Wayuu, inhabitants of the waters of Lake Maracaibo and its tributary rivers. Starting points of a deeply relational and
ecocentric ontological approach.
