Reflexiones antropológicas sobre los límites espaciotemporales del taller de costura

Abstract

The article analyzes the practices and relationships built around a sewing workshop run by two siblings, located in Buenos Aires today. In line with contemporary anthropological perspectives that question our understanding of work, a broad view is adopted, not limited to the spatiotemporal boundaries of work within the workshop. Thus, we see that their way of making a living is primarily based on the task of making and selling clothes, enabled by a network of relationships and practices that can only be understood through an intersectional lens, considering migration status, gender, and urban spatiality.
