Abstract

Vitoria De Masi's book arrived on the cusp of 2024 from a publishing house that sets reading agendas and knows the political compass. One year into Javier Milei's presidency, the figure of his sister, Karina, becomes as enigmatic as the experiment to which La Libertad Avanza leads us. In this detour, the prevailing attempt is to create a biography of a minor character, of an actor who becomes transcendent three minutes before creating and accompanying her brother on the path that will lead them to the pinnacle of power. Until yesterday, the current Secretary General of the Presidency was a middle-class woman from a neighborhood, marked by the misfortunes of that class in Argentina, Buenos Aires, and the provinces of Buenos Aires Province, who knows how to change jobs, who skillfully reads the paths to upward mobility, and who can adjust household expenses to suit the seasons.
