América Latina en la New Left Review: ecos del debate sobre la dependencia y el desarrollo en los años sesenta y setenta

Son numerosos los temas de debate en los que se puede señalar una influencia recíproca entre la producción teórica del marxismo en Europa y América Latina. Una de las temáticas en las que se puede explorar tal influencia es el problema del desarrollo y la dependencia, un área de discusión que en las décadas del sesenta y setenta tuvo resonancias en el continente europeo. Una publicación que acusó recibo de aquel debate fue la revista británica New Left Review (NLR). A partir de un relevamiento sistemático sobre tal publicación, este trabajo aborda esa recepción, indagando el lugar que en ella tuvo el fenómeno del “Tercer Mundo”. Asimismo, se concentra en reflexionar acerca del modo en que ese aspecto fue presentado y tratado en la revista británica. De esa manera, el artículo problematiza el dilema de la asimetría en la producción y circulación de conocimiento; y, en particular, busca poner de relieve el papel otorgado por la NLR a las usinas intelectuales latinoamericanas (y sus referentes) como espacios de producción de teoría, partiendo de disyuntivas abordadas y ponderadas por la propia revista en los años sesenta y setenta.
