A América Latina na New Left Review: ecos do debate sobre dependência e desenvolvimento nas décadas de 1960 e 1970

São numerosos os temas de debate em que se pode apontar uma influência recíproca entre a produção teórica do marxismo na Europa e na América Latina. Um dos temas em que se pode explorar tal influencia é o problema do desenvolvimento e da dependência, uma área de discussão que nas décadas de 1960 e 1970 teve repercussões no continente europeu. Uma publicação que registrou esse debate foi a revista britânica New Left Review (NLR). A partir de uma pesquisa sistemática sobre essa publicação, este trabalho aborda essa recepção, investigando o lugar que o fenômeno do “Terceiro Mundo” ocupou nela. Além disso, concentra-se em refletir sobre a forma como esse aspecto foi apresentado e tratado na revista britânica. Dessa forma, o artigo problematiza o dilema da assimetria na produção e circulação do conhecimento e, em particular, busca destacar o papel atribuído pela NLR as usinas intelectuais latino-americanas (e seus referentes) como espaços de produção de teoria, a partir de dilemas abordados e ponderados pela própria revista nas décadas de 1960 e 1970.
