The book we present is the product of the International Conference DIASPORE. Del Mediterráneo a América Latina. Arte, lengua y literatura en las migraciones, co-organized in September 2021 by the Instituto Interdisciplinario de Estudios e Investigaciones de América Latina (INDEAL) of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters (University of Buenos Aires) and the Archivio Scritture Scrittrici Migranti together with the Department of Linguistics and Comparative Cultural Studies of Ca' Foscari University of Venice. This 17th edition, edited by Marcela Croce, Silvia Lunardi and Susana Regazzoni, belongs to the collection Diaspore. Quaderni di ricerca directed by Regazzoni herself and Ricciarda Ricorda at the Venetian university.
The book fulfills in its pages what can be understood as part of its message: the reconnection of existing cultural ties (often, if not hidden, overlooked) between the two lands, the Mediterranean one in Europe, which constitutes itself as the point of origin, and the one that serves as the point of arrival, Latin America. So much so that it is written in two alternating languages, Italian and Spanish.
