Un análisis antropológico de la producción del Estado en el Conurbano Bonaerense

Abstract

This article analyzes the process of State production in a district of Buenos Aires suburbs, critically recovering the theory of state capacities´s underlying questions to discuss them from an anthropological perspective about the State. Based on partial results of two ongoing ethnographic research focused, respectively, on the creation of a university and a local habitat agency, both located in the same district. From these advances, it is argued that the State at the local level is the result, both, of active processes that involve the mobilization of the district population´s political and labor force and also the production and updating of links and relations that contribute to state agencies´s co-production. In doing so, it seeks to contribute to the more general debate about the relationship between the State and subaltern sectors, dismantling distinctions between state/society, public/private or different levels of government.
