Abstract

The article focuses on discourse as a practice of enunciation of ideas, on the intellectual
as the subject of this practice ?who thus self-produces as the subject of discourse? and on the
political meaning that objectively defines them ?discourse, ideas and the subject of discourse?
within a discursive universe that, in the interweaving of the intellectual field, the political field and
the field of power ?fields of forces and struggles? is constituted within the concrete totality of a
social universe. Based on Arturo Andrés Roig (Mendoza, 1922-2012) in his paradigmatic exercise
of the history of ideas and Latin American philosophy, the aim is to reflect theoretically, critically
and methodologically, seeking to contribute with this reflection to the construction of the field of
studies of ideas. The theoretical, critical and methodological challenge is assumed in the
perspective of an intellectual history of the present time, with an explicit vocation to contribute to
the building of the field ?disciplinary, multidisciplinary, interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary? of
studies of ideas, without abandoning the history of ideas, but exploring possibilities in its exercise,
which recognise its foundations and orientations in the “methodological expansion” that Roig
proposed and went through in the context of his exile between 1973 and 1984.
